Biodiversity of Marcy’s Woods

The scope of Marcy’s Woods ecological significance is astonishing. Covering 285 acres, Marcy’s Woods contains several significant flora and fauna ecosystems. In addition to Carolinian Forest, the property features noted wetlands, sand dunes, and Lake Erie shoreline.

The distinct ecosystems are home to 36 significant plant species, 6 of which are nationally rare, at least 3 nationally vulnerable bird species, and provincially and nationally protected wildlife.
